Miss Cathy McGuinness Joins the VeinCare Team

Miss Cathy McGuinness

The Melbury Clinic is pleased to announce that Miss Cathy McGuinness has joined the VeinCare Team at the Melbury Clinic.

Cathy is a fully trained Consultant Vascular Surgeon who qualified at St George’s Hospital in London. She completed her surgical training in London and then held a consultant NHS post at St Thomas’ Hospital in Vascular Surgery. Cathy has an impressive record of research into vein problems and she has published many articles in prestigious medical journals on venous disease. Her particular clinical interests are in minimally invasive (key hole) vein treatments, thrombosis, lymphoedema, leg ulceration and leg spider veins.

Dr Haroun Gajraj did part of his surgical training with Cathy in London. For this reason, as a colleague and friend, Haroun invited Cathy to join the Melbury Clinic earlier this year. Of course, Cathy had to under go the standard application process with its checks on her credentials, indemnity insurance, references and police checks, but once they were completed, Cathy started a regular Friday clinic.
